Agra fort

After visiting the world famous Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonder of the world visit Agra Fort, the magnificent beauty of red sandstone positioned on the banks of river yamuna. King Akbar had it rebuilt with red sandstone, many builders worked on it daily for 8 years, completing it in 1573

Akbar had good times with walls on 3 sides and in between is a cascade like fountain not exactly a fountain because water flows in it and it is suppose to evaporate which causes cooling and room gets cooled.

Emperor grandson shah jahan came into power he made further additions to the fort using his favorite material – marble, he transformed the military structure into a palace and later it became a gilded prison for shah jahan when his son Aurangzeb seized power in 1658.
